New Bling :)

Hey friends! This week's blog post is an exciting one! For those of you who follow me on social media have already seen the post, but if you do not you are about to hear about it! So, without further ado, let us talk about my SUMMIT RING CEROMONY!!

First things first, for those of you who know me, know I am an extremely competitive individual, and you can thank my dad for giving me that trait. Seriously, did you not think letting an 8-year-old scream and yell at the TV when a football game was on would carry over into everyday life? Not that I am complaining, I take pride in being competitive.

BUT it certainly escalated when I started becoming an athlete myself...

Most people do not know this, but I did softball growing up and it was actually my favorite sport over competitive cheerleading. Up until, I did not make it on the Varsity softball team not one, but TWO years in a row. Yeah, I guess I just was not that good. But that is okay because I got into competitive cheerleading. Which has led me to have 5 Championship rings in 6 years. WOW!

This year was extra special and sentimental for a lot of reasons. I knew it was my last year competing in cheer (or at least I think it is), and this program meant so much to me as an athlete and an individual. I became a part of the first ever ACE franchise team to win the Summit All-Stars National Championship competition.

But what does that really mean? Allow me to explain. So, all over the southeast states, in multiple cities, there are ACE cheer gyms. Hundreds of them. Well, my gym located in Dothan, Alabama is the first ACE gym to win the biggest competition in All-star cheer.

So yes, I will brag a little bit.

So, this weekend, our Head Coach, Aaron Pollard, who cheered at The University of Alabama AND did USA cheer (yes, he is pretty famous), decided to have a small banquet and finally give us our rings. And let me tell you, they were BEAUTIFUL. But it is no surprise since he has around 100 rings, so he knows a thing or two about picking them out.

The banquet was around 7 p.m. Friday night, so I ended up getting ready in Tuscaloosa and drove down to the venue. Once I got there and was able to see all my old teammates and coaches, it was truly something special.

We all dressed up and looked nice around each other for once, so of course we took pictures before we ate and handed our rings, but we all were too anxious to get our bling and when the time finally came, we were left speechless.

The ring could not have been any prettier. Seriously, I do not know how my future husband is going to pick out an engagement ring and top this ring. So, we all ditched our food and immediately started taking pictures with each other and our rings.

After the banquet, I drove back home to Opp and of course had to show it off to everyone including my dad. Especially since now I have passed him in championship rings. That has been on the bucket list since I was twelve.

It was a bittersweet night for me since my cheerleading career is over, but I know I would not have wanted it to end any other way than with this team. I could not have had a more perfect night and now I can finally retire my old cheerleading self...
